Pick Your Fighter. Know Your Moves.
Week in and week out we write poems, often using different prompts, trying to ensure the way we approach a subject or an idea is innovative and can keep us interested as we work through the drafts. But what happens when we’ve reached a point we think a poem is finished, send it out to magazines and editors and get nothing back? Has the poem failed or are we just experiencing a wave of bad luck?
Chances are the poem isn’t moving enough, or needs to develop in order for it to really ping off the page. In this workshop we’ll consider what our poems could be doing by trying to establish a set of moves and thinking around some of the major ones we often see in poems as a way of guiding us through thinking about our own words.
Once you purchase this item, and after the workshop has taken place, you will be emailed (from press@outspokenldn.com) a link and password to the video recording of the workshop on our Vimeo page. This password-protected video will remain available for viewing for a limited duration of three weeks from the date of the workshop. After this date it will no longer be accessible.
