A celebration of the pleasures and pains of exertion, this workshop will look closely at everyday physical feats we take for granted. A chance to study poems that explore our physical limits and the attraction of risk, we will consider emotional reactions triggered by corporeal effort, and what happens when physical odds must be overcome.

Rebecca Goss is a poet, tutor and mentor living in Suffolk. She is the author of four full-length collections and two pamphlets. Her second collection, Her Birth, (Carcanet, 2013) was shortlisted for the 2013 Forward Prize for Best Collection, and in 2015 was shortlisted for the Warwick Prize for Writing and the Portico Prize for Literature.
